Morning All,

Can I check something with you guys?

I received my online notification that my Interview was being Scheduled on 9/1.

My current online status is: My interview was scheduled. On September 1, 2017, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number NBC*XXXXXXXXX. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice.

Am I right in thinking it takes roughly a week to 10 days to receive the interview letter (I797) with the date?

I'm now over three weeks since my status updated on line with no changes, I reached out to NBC yesterday by phone and asked if they had an interview date for me, or could detail if a letter had been dispatched. I'm anxious that it may have gotten lost in the mail. They advised me that there would be yet another online update when my letter has actually been dispatched and mailed to me?

Is this the case as I thought the next online update for me would be after the interview and when the oath ceremony had been scheduled?

Am I correct or do I actually have to wait for yet another update online before an interview date is created?

Thanks guys!

I remember getting mine within 10 days from the status update. My status is still at interview has been scheduled even if I got the oath letter yesterday. I would call them again and put a service request in or ask to talk to a tier 2. You should have gotten it by now. Did you also check with the post office?

This is what I don't understand they are telling me there are THREE parts to the 'interview stage' one: Inline for interview - Check I got that update, then it updated to Interview Scheduled that was on 9/1. They are now telling me there is a THIRD interview status, once the letter has been sent out?

Weird.

I'll give them a call on Monday maybe my local office San Antonio who are sending the letters are behind - their online status says for N400 they are working up to November 2016 - but its hard to believe the information as their status isn't regularly updated. Surely the change in status follows a prompt in process and they have moved me forward. Its seems a long winded process to just buy themselves time?

Patience is a virtue.

I wouldn't wait too long.  Usually the interview is scheduled within a month from the notice. So if they did send you a notice and it got lost, you might miss your interview which is reason for denial. Call again just to make sure that what the first person told you is right. Altho I doubt it because everyone here got their letters when their status changed to interview was scheduled. I would call them asap and put pressure on them. Time is valuable in your case.

@St.James-One......Hows your application going? My local office is in Atlanta and I saw yours here on April Filers. I am in May N-400 Filers 2017.  If I remember we were in the same thread last year for ROC with @Private One:D

I am IN LINE for interview since June 12. Are you done?

I filed at about the same time as @St.James-One but field office is NYC. I'm scheduled to take the oath on 09/27. Interview was 09/12. I heard that Atlanta is real slow but hopefully you guys will hear something soon.

Good Luck...

Got one question tho. What happens if I can not find my travel permit?we recently moved and everything is still boxed up but I don't remember seeing it recently.

I would not go crazy over it. Most people can't find "all documents ever issued". Walk with what you have and if they ask explain your situation and ask what steps should be taken if you find the documents.

Thank you! I am not necessarily concerned about that cause I don't think that would be reason enough to turn me back. But I'll have to dig through my boxes this weekend.

Question for @wqw89: How many pages did you get with your oath letter? Was looking over the letter to see what exactly I have to take to the ceremony and I notice the pages are numbered "1 of 3" and "2 of 3" but there was no "3 of 3" in my envelope. Did you get a third page? If yes, what does it have on it? I definitely only got two pages. I make a digital copy of everything I receive from USCIS. Immediately after I got the letter I scanned and saved and I only have two pages.

Thanks

Hi !!! I received my NOA2 Hard Copy with a notice date of September 19th, but online on the USCIS website it said September 20th, has anyone else had this happen? Should I go by the hard copy date or the date on the USCIS website? Anyway, I'm really glad to receive the hardcopy so early, and I'm hoping to get the NVC Case # ASAP so that we can make arrangements to move everything along quickly.

@Private One: my letter is in the exact format as yours, in which it also says there are 3 pages but I only have 2 (1 sheet of paper, double-sided). I would think that it is just a simple format error that USCIS did not notice since it asks for your signature at the end of page 2 (and signature is usually provided at the end of a letter or form)

by the way, do you have any information regarding whether or not we can apply for our passports at the spot at the end of the ceremony?

Thanks

I feel better knowing that there is no third page. Thanks for being more specific - yes, it's a single sheet but double sided. I've heard many people talk about submitting their passport application on the spot. I want to do the same. I believe there will be passport applications at the oath ceremony. I've heard that the Department of State is the agency responsible for accepting the application.  I'm searching for more concrete. Please share if you find something before I do.

Thanks

even though the officer handed me the invite letter for the ceremony at my Interview ,

but yes it was one double sided page  saying 1-3 ,

regards to the passport application I received the application in the white envelop they give you when you sign in  at the Oath , there was no onside passport booth ,

I would not have used the passport booth if they had one ,

since I wanted to scan and print a copy,  gave me a piece of mind of having at least a copy of the certificate before sending it out with the passport application
