Can I schedule a medical and the next day schedule an interview even if the medical hasn't been done? Also Who has to fill out the ds 156 and ds 156k forms?

Yes, you can but your visa, if approved, will be issued only after the results of a medical delivered to the Embassy.

Forms DS-156 and DS-156k are not required anymore. They were to be filled out by fiancees until October 2013. The only form required now is DS-160 because K visas are classified as non-immigrant.

In Ukraine, the medical results would not be available until after 3pm the next day.

K-1/K2s get their results the same day.

In Ukraine the results are  not delivered to the Embassy - an applicant picks the medical and presents the envelope to the Embassy during interview.

True. My point was that the visa, if approved, won't be issued until after the Embassy gets the results of the medical.

If your medical is fine and you don't need any additional tests, you will have your results at the same day. So, technically, you can schedule your interview the next day after medical. But I would recommend to make sure the medical results are good and only THEN schedule your interview.

P.S. Make sure they have given you form DS-3025 (vaccination record) along with medical results. You'll need the form for your next step here, in the US , when you apply for a green card. To be able to get DS-3025 you will have to bring your vaccination record, form 086/y if i remember correct.

Good luck :)

Looks like the "rules" have been recently changed... According to the instruction above the medical results are given to the applicant at 3.00 p.m  next working day.. Well, even hours  for performing the examination have been changed  - it used to be from 9.00 a.m til 12.00 p/m.. now - 9.00-3.00...

I guess, no mistake - he should get his results tomorrow :)
