Hi! New IL recipient here (F2A, PD 19 May 2015, my LPR wife is my petitioner).

In the SLEC Online Registration form (www.slec.ph/registration/), what should I put under "civil status?" My wife and I got married in the States, but not here in the Philippines; even got our PSA CENOMARs to show for it.

Answers highly appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

EDIT - tried calling up SLEC at both (+63 2) 521-0020 and (+63 2) 521-8647, apparently they're closed on weekends.

Sorry, what's a "ROM"?

Report of Marriage.  You got married in the USA.  To have the married recorded at PSA you complete a Report Of Marriage through the consulate representing the state you got married in.

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!

Oh, I see. Is there value in reporting our marriage to the PSA later?

Also, we followed Hank_'s suggestion from this thread, since the threadstarter's situation (F2A, married in the States but not in the PH) was similar to ours:

For the interview, I'll be bringing me and my wife's up-to-date PSA CENOMARs, our marriage certificate (from our ceremony in the US), as well as the other documents requested in the IL.

Hank's advice is very good.

Yes for sure bring copies of your marriage certificate and yes CENOMARs not older than 6 months.   You need everything that is listed in the embassy instructions letter.  https://ph.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/82/2016/08/IV-Applicant-Interview-Preparation-Instructions-08112016-English-365KB.pdf

As for the advantage to reporting your marriage to the Philippines; 1)  IF your wife wants to get her passport in her married name, 2) one day you have children and want them to have proper naming (for dual citizenship).     Really depends on your longer range plans.

Addendum - so, to be triply sure, we called up SLEC Manila a couple of minutes ago. They said to use my Philippine civil status (which is "single") for the online registration, and to bring photocopies of our marriage cert and both our CENOMARs each, as well as my passport, 4pcs recent 2"x2" visa photos, previous medical/vaccination docs, 2pcs printouts of my IL, and 2pcs printouts the online registration confirmation, to my appointment.

I hope this info helps someone in the future :) Was pretty hard to get through SLEC's busy trunkline.

.. bull.  Some idiot gave an opinion that does not fit with the visa you are pursuing.     The medical is for USEM .. status is married.  And yes you bring your CENOMAR and marriage certificate to the interview.. IT IS REQUIRED.  But SLEC does not need a copy of your CENOMAR or marriage certificate.

http://www.slec.ph/us-visa-applicants.shtml#required-docs

SLEC will need to bring a copy of your DS-260 confirmation page to St. Luke's (2nd day) .. which is contrary to the status of your online registration.

This is an embassy process... follow your ACTUAL status!

@Hank_, @Sagot, had my friend who works at St. Luke's inquire to SLEC's front desk directly, and he confirms that I do need to put in "Married", since this is for F2A after all.

Wonder why the lady on SLEC's phone said I needed to put in "Single" :( She could've checked with the front desk, or just said they didn't know.

In any case, edited my online confirmation and printed out new copies of the form. Thanks again!

Because in the Philippines... everyone likes to GIVE THEIR OPINION... not fact.  Filipinos do NOT say I don't know.
