Depends on the doctor. Some require 1 and some require 3. They will usually tell you how many to bring when you book your medical.

Ditto on calling about how many passport photos to take. They differ - you may be able to save yourself some money.

Feb 25 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office for processing

Feb 26 - got emails saying that the cases have been transferred to my local office for processing

Feb 28 - got emails saying that the cases have been transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

Mar 18 - got emails saying that the petitions are approved smile.png

Always best to call and confirm, because their requirements may change from time to time.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Where do you plan on getting your medical done? I have no idea what province you're in. As of February of this year, Dr. Seiden's in Toronto only required one but as flames9 mentioned, requirements change from time to time.

I did mine at Dr Seiden & Associates Toronto mid March. I needed 1 photo and total time 30 mins and I was done. When calling to set up your appointment you can ask them about how many photo's you need to bring along. I had carried along a second photo just in case and it came in handy since I wanted a copy of the medical for my IR1/CR1 and they asked if I had a second one. For K1 I think 1 photo should be fine but call to confirm first.

I'm not sure yet; it depends where I am when I can get it! I live in Ontario but might be going to BC. Lately I'm hardly ever in the same place for long :S

does anyone know how much the medical, etc, costs? or does it vary by doctor?

i noticed in the attached pdf on the medical exam that any hospitalizations, chronic medical conditions, etc need to be noted by your doctor... just so happens that i've had many, going back to when i was a baby. do they need all of that? will there be a form of some kind outlining what they want so you can be sure of providing the info they want?
