Was only receiving one or two applications per day for US citizenship, Now with all this immigration stuff going on, receiving at least 50 new applicants per day and expecting even more.

Our reason for applying as early as possible was because of super delays in I-751 processing, Even had to drive over 400 miles to get a stamp in my wife's current valid foreign passport that nobody understood anyway.  Even her one year extension expired before her citizen interview, and up to us to keep ourselves legal.

Ha, are they doing a better job of processing that I-751 today?

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

Where do you find those numbers? These are the official data from USCIS https://www.uscis.gov/tools/reports-studies/immigration-forms-data/data-set-form-n-400-application-naturalization

Unfortunately the latest data is from FY16 Q4 (July1st to Sept30) published end of December, we will need to wait another 5-6 months for the current situation but even by then Milwaukee office received ~1100 applications per quarter -> ~12 applications per day. I went back to earlier years and they were receiving around ~900 application per quarter -> ~10 applications per day. I don't know if there are that many LPRs at Milwaukee jurisdiction to yield 50 applications per day for citizenship to be honest but let's wait for the FY17 Q2 statistics to be sure.

I751s are not that bad for California Service Center, where WI residents filing to. I belived the current processing time is about 6-7 months. 6 months is USCIS's goal by the way. There were times in recent years CSC was able to process these in 2-3 months but compared to the Vermont Service Center (whose current processing time for I751 is about 12-13 months) CSC is in a much much better situation.

Source for this information was on Wisconsin Public Radio, not sure who the respondent was, just brought back some memories of what we went through.  Wife had to carry both her expired green card and that one year extension letter, the this and her foreign passport book with that stamp inside.

This created two problems for us, one was with the DMV, refused to issue her a driver's license, state appointed a new guy in charge of immigration, took us a week to explain how the USCIS operates, they did issue her a new license for eight years.  Ironically when that expired, refused to renew it, but I went with her with her US passport, copied it, and now she is finally cleared.

The other was with her employer, could be fined $16,300.00 for hiring an undocumented person, that took a lot of explaining with their legal deparment.  Seems llike nobody understands how the USCIS operates. ha, with all of our friends and relatives  , never even heard of the USCIS. Very first thing she did when she received he citizenship was show that to her employers legal department, case is closed.

Only person we met that knew about that extension letter was coming back to the USA at the POE, he commented, great, you knew you had to file for that I-751, would be surprised the number of people that try to come back didn't know this.

We filed for that I-751 at the earliest day, was expecting to get that new green card within 90 days, this was a shock to us, not only for my wife, but her daughter as well.

Oh, after about a year, we received a letter from the USCIS requesting updated information, wasn't bad, we already applied for US citizenship, the evidence required was just about the same, just had to make more copies.  Wife's first comment after her interview, she saw her file, was over 3 inches thick.
