Hello everybody i just want to know cos i've done with my interview for K3 and everything went fine but they put me on AR due to incomplete documents(Police Certificate Hongkong). At the sametime we also pursue the Cr1 i attend the interview last March 26 and the Consul told me that im approved and wait for my visa for few days...I recieved my passport together with my brown envelope, but when i saw my visa type its K3...i thought it was understood for them that we already want the Cr1 not the K3.

If the interview for the K3 was first then that might be why you received the K3 visa. Hopefully the CR 1 visa is on its way, probably should contact them though and see what's going on just to make sure.

The CR1 is the best visa because you are done when u get here. Call and see if you can get the CR1 visa. All the best

the embassy can give you the type of visa they want. really I am surprised the k-3 was not cancelled. so what you gonna do?

turn in the visa? or be reunited?

I would suggest you take the visa and run! you could so easily wind up on AP/AR longer! all for a dayum visa? thats crazy. you are comming from phila. I know a lady that was on AP/AR 3 years from manilia.

If i understood well, and am correct ( i have read it here of what i believe a good source) you have 6 months timeframe in which you can activate the k-3 visa at the POE; it gives you time to wait for the cr-1 visa. It depends of how long you want to wait...and/or i would make sure with the cr-1 intervier...in some cases, at the nvc level, sometimes they stop the i-130 visa to let people continue with the I-129; i don't know if it applies here, but...this parralel work on 2 visas...i still try to understand the logic...Good luck!

Please give us an update. We are about to go though exactly what you did. We are trying to figure out if we should interview for BOTH K3 and CR1 or what but never had any solid replies here yet. We of course want the CR1, but it would be cool to have the K3 in hand also before our CR1 JUST IN CASE. Any other experience here would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone.... We still decided to pursue my Cr1 visa application eventhough i already had my K3 visa.. I went to embassy last April 10 and surrender my brown envelope together with my passport, the CO interview me again he asked me why i dont want the K3 visa since they already issued me.. I just told him the advantage of Cr1 application and i also told that them. that's why i attend the last interview for Cr1 cos we really want to pursue it.Im not in a rushed to be reunited with my hubby. He still deployed in kuwait and back this coming July. So hoping before my hubby come back my Cr1 is already done by that time..

IT MUST BE NICE TO PICK AND CHOOSE THE VISA YOU WANT, WHEN YOU HAVE THE DAYUM THING IN YOUR HAND. i THINK BEING REUNITED FASTER WITH A SPOUSE IS ALOT BETTER. THAN WASTING more TIME PERSUING ANOTHER LONG AZZ WAIT..SOUNDS PRETTY DAYUM SELFISH TO ME..

Well I guess I understand your reasoning since your husband is not in US anyway till July
