Filed Within the 90 days??

Hi there!,, its been a while since I visited this site.

 

Hope all of you are okay!! Here I am again asking for help about the I-175. 

 

I don't know if I understand it correctly. When they say the I-751 form must be file within the 90 days just preceding the expiration date of the permanent resident card, does it mean that I have to send my package three months before the expiration of my green card? For example, my green card will expire on May 29th, 2017, so my 90 day window will start on March 1st?

Hello - Yes, that's correct, your 90 day window will start on March 1st. You can file any time WITHIN those 90 days. Some people just make the mistake and think they supposed to file within 90 days before their second wedding anniversary instead of the second green card anniversary..

Your welcome, no problem!
And yes, you still have time to get the job done  ..and remember, as long as you file BEFORE the expiration date shown your green card you're good. If I remember right I mailed my stuff off about one week before my card expired just to be on the safe side..You never know..keep in mind - something could always happen when mailing it..like your package could get lost or God knows what and by the time you find out and it's past your Green Card expiration you're screwed.. I would have mailed mine off a bit earlier, but I was waiting for something important to get mailed to my house that I needed as evidence.

I'm planning to mail my package on the first week of March. I have photocopied all of my documents and printed out the form I-751. I'm just waiting for our tax returns.

 

Do I need a US passport style photos? Uhmmm.

No you do not need the photos.  They will be taken at the biometrics appointment.

ohh ok.. so the passport style photos are only applicable for those who resides overseas....right??

I have one more question.... Do i need a passport with my married name on it? What i have now is my old passport (but not expired yet) with my maiden name..
