Kick A$$ (pardon my French!!)

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Met through an MMORPG: April 2005

Met in person: 9/23/2005

He proposed in front of Buckingham fountain: 8/20/2006

Sent I-129: 12/21/06

NOA1: 12/29/06

Touched: 3/27/06 (Happy belated bday to meee :P)

Received Email that they sent NOA2 yesterday!: 3/28/07

NOA2 in ze mail: 4/2/07

Called NVC to see if they have received the case and they haven't :( 4/13/07 and 4/19/07

NVC sent packet to MTL today! 4/24/07 (took 4 weeks from notice date)

MTL sent packet to my lawyer 5/2/07

Lawyer received Packet 3 finally! 5/17/07

Now on the waiting list for an interview! 5/29/2007

August 28/06 Left NVC. . . Vancouver Bound!

September 27/06 Interview APPROVED, with visa in hand

October 29/06 Moving Date

December 30/06 Married!!

AOS Journey:

January 16/07 Sent out AOS, EAD, and AP docs

January 23/07 NOA1's for AOS, EAD and AP

February 13/07 Biometrics in Portland, OR

April 7/07 EAD and AP Received

April 24/07 Interview Scheduled . . . and APPROVED, stamp and all!

May 7/07 Greencard is in my hands!

ROC Journey:

February 17/09 Sent I-751 to CSC

February 18/09 NOA1

March 14/09 Biometrics appt.

April 22/09 Date of Approval!!

June 25/09 Greencard arrives in the mail!

Ok I just got back home 20 min ago (F...bus took forever to get to my place and had to walk a mile, i miss having a car)

Oh well, its like everybody said. Thats crazy. I got there around 7h45 and there was still aout 10 people waiting in line for security. They all got turned away because of their bags and I passed the security second (Thanks to VJ :thumbs: ). They gave me the little "C window 9" paper and told me to go wait for elevator. At 7h55 they took us upstairs, I was first to get out (Thanks to VJ :thumbs: ). Gave my appointment letter to window 9. Was called at window 12 about 15 min later, I gave my documents ( she said I was well organized, Thanks to VJ :thumbs: ) and went to pay at window 14 and came back and signed both DS-156. She didnt ask for my fiance BC or originals of divorce decree BTW. I asked her for the copy of the vaccination supplement and she very kindly made me one! She was surprise they didnt give me one at the medical.

They called me to go to room 8 at 9h00. Here's what he asked me.

-How we met

-His job

-How my family react to the fact that i was moving to the USA

-How often we have the kids ( he has 3 boys) and how I feel about it (I said they are young and really easy going and he nod)

-What wedding plans we have

-If I ever got denied entry or arrested. (here's a little thing, I had a B-2 stamped in my passport in April 2006 good for 6 months, he said usually they put that cause they feel the person could be a risk, but I told him that was my shortest trip ever 3 days and I have no idea why they stamped it, they didnt questioned me that much)

So at the end, all he said was that this is a pretty straightforward case and I should hear from them on Tuesday......... :blink::blink::blink:

So then I asked does that mean I am approved ???? :huh:

So he smiled and said yep I will just wait for the results from you fingerprints and we should mail it to you tomorrow and you will get it on tuesday!!!!

I seriously walked out of there ( at 9h16) not knowing how to feel about it. Like that feeling we should call them back to sure....But hey I guess I am approved!!!! :dance:

But wow, they got such a way to let you know just to make you doubting about it!!!

Im still a little like, #######. I guess that is normal :lol: Wow. Its done. We can turn the page.

07/26/07 - received Visa from Montreal (should have received 07/24)

07/26/07 - POE Buffalo, NY (Peace Bridge) .. No EAD stamp

07/27/07 - Beautiful marriage .. now you may call me Mrs. :)

07/28/07 - Filed AOS,EAD, and AP for me and AOS and AP for my son via UPS .. received 08/01

08/16/07 - applied for ssn

09/03/07 - received ssn card

11/07/07 - AP approved and received 11/12/07 :)

11/19/07- EAD approved online and received same day (actual approval 11/07/07) :)

12/27/07 - AOS transferred to CSC

02/26/08 - 485's approved without interview

01/14/09 - Sent I-751 - removal of conditions

02/23/10 - Biometrics

03/17/10 - Removal of conditions approved .. card production ordered

Feb 25 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office for processing

Feb 26 - got emails saying that the cases have been transferred to my local office for processing

Feb 28 - got emails saying that the cases have been transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

Mar 18 - got emails saying that the petitions are approved smile.png
