Hi.

According to "Form N-400 Instruction" issued by 12/23/16 N, they say "Provide a photocopy of your current marriage certificate, divorce, annulment decree, or death certificate of former spouse". in Page 10, Required Evidence section.

However, in According to "M-477" revised by 11/21/16, they say " If you were married before, send: proof that all earlier marriages ended (divorce decrees, annulments, or death certificates".

We are applying N-400 with greencard after 5 yrs. We married in South Korea. We have marriage certificate in English that we used for our green card. However, it was issued more than 5 yrs.

Do I need to submit Marriage certificate? If then, can I use the old one? There is no mention such as "all document should be issued in 6 months" in any form.

Thanks in advance.

Given that you're still married, your marriage certificate is current. Send a photocopy as required.

Yes, you will have to submit the copy of your marriage certificate with your application. Please bring extra copy to the interview in case your copy was missing from their file.
