NVC will begin sending Interview Letter from the first day of the next month, for an interview in September.

You are expected to get IL from August 1, because your PD was current (April 19, 2006).

However, you should call them to ask your interview date from July 30, so you don't have to worry if they send IL late.

that is good, but our pd is 03april2006, yet not got IL

Hi Ahmad,
From my experience, It takes NVC about 10 working days from the day they receive it to review all documents , After they review your case and if  all is okay with no missing  documents and when you receive a confirmation email  (Case Completion email) , I am suspecting within two weeks from that email you will receive you Interview Letter.
Call the NVC next week or so to confirm that they have received all your documents.

What Ahmad said is true. We got the email, confirming the receipts of the all docs, and our case is in a queue. We received this email in 22 days

Call by Wednesday, u will surely get IL.

I was wondering what kind of visa is issued after interview? This visa is valid for how many months? Within how many days one needs to move to US after the issuance of this visa? and how long does it take to get green card after reaching to the US?

Would be great if someone could share their experience.

An immigrant visa is usually valid for up to six months from the date of issuance

unless your medical examination expires sooner, which may make your visa valid for less than six months.

You have to enter the US before the expiration date.

Remeber that at the Port of Entry, the principal application (father, mother) has to enter the US first, meaning he has to meet the CBP first with a visa packet.

Then the derivative applicants such as his daughters/sons can go after him.

You have to pay the green card fee $220 before or after flying to the US. The Embassy will send an instruction to pay this fee along with your visa.

After you paid the fees, you will get the green card and social security card within 2 weeks - 4 months from the date entering the US.

You can check the status of your green card via website using your confimation code after paying the fee.

The green card and social security will be delivered to the US address noted in DS-260.

If you plan to live in another address, you have to notify the CBP officer at the time of entry, or via USCIS website.

Actually, 3 to 4 times  we had communicated with NVC requesting to consider it under CSPA. But every time we got the same routine reply stating at NVC they will not do anything. Only at the time of parents Interview, counselor officer can determine it.

We have added the name during DS 260, But nothing has been done.

So, we are in dark that what will happen now ?

If you have any knowledge or idea about such situations, pl share your views

For this write a mail, asknvc@state.gov , in subject line (case no, and cspa addition of son/daughter)

in mail, send birth certificate scan copy and cspa calculations u mention.

Try this way... It has helped in few of my group members at WhatsApp....

Furthermore, if it doesn't work out, then after your Interview, politely ask consulate officer about your children cspa and req them to consider.....

Many times officer again calculate cspa age and if eligible, they give positive solution.

Will it makes any difference for claiming CSPA consideration, if time gap is just 2 months between PD and Case approved date.

If your case is completed and NVC deny to process your child's CSPA, you should not ask them to review your case anymore.

Because your interview will be delayed in the reviewing step.

NVC is right. They can only help you to add your child's name into the interview letter but they cannot ensure that your child will be granted visa.

Only Consular Officer can make that decision at the interview.

If NVC calculates your child's CSPA and they realize that he could be age out at the time of interview, they cannot complete your request, and ask you to meet the Consular Officer.

What you can do is waiting for the interview.

2 weeks before your interview, check the status on the website, https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

If it says READY, which mean your documents were delivered to the Embassy.

Then you can write an email to your Embassy to ask them about CSPA (include scan of birth certificate, notice of approval).

The Embassy will review your child's CSPA.

If he is eligible, the Embassy will allow him to join the interview, and the Consular Officer will make a final decision about your child's case.
