Adjusting from K-1 after delay

Sending in my paperwork we have been gathering for AOS has been, for several different reasons, delayed significantly. We were married in June of 2015. Am I correct to assume I can still file for Adjustment of Status the same way as if I had filed right after the wedding? Or is there another route that is necessary, or perhaps preferable, now that it is so long after the fact? I have almost all my ducks in a row now to be able to file in the near future and want to make sure I am going about it in the best way.

You can just file AOS but your overseas medical is not valid anymore.

K1 have no time limit to file for the AOS... USCIS recommends you file asap and it's ideally best to file before you i-94 expires but a k1 is always eligible to file AOS as long as you marry within the 90days no matter how much time has passed... I came on a k1 in Jan 2010 and filed for AOS may 2016 and today I got my i-485 interview and was approved... They just asked why it took 6 years for me file I just told them it was a little to do with financials but mainly we lost track of time they didn't seem concerned and approved my green card... File as normal but get a new medical done

Ok thanks. And thanks Moslund I was a little concerned they would question me on the delay too. But surely its fairly common, with the mountain of paperwork they expect and the high filing fees as well. Money is tight starting out as a young married couple as it is, without the added financial burden of immigration.

Just get a new medical done and send your package off as normal
