Wife went in to Clark CFO (today) and was in and out in about 15 minutes.. She wasnt required to do the seminar portion however since she had to go through that back when she changed her name to my last name. She only had to fill out the form and get the stamp.

Your wife already complete CFO years ago being you two were married in the Philippines and she had her passport updated to married name.

I see you have not been around the immigration process very long. Yes there are hoops to jump thru, but we as the petitioners can also voice our opinions and get the ones that really serve no purpose or just are plain stupid removed. It has been done in the past before you joined. Look at Document Verification about 10 years ago that all the petitioners had to go thru after the interview, it delayed and put everyone Administrative Review for about 45 day on average.

So sitting back and doing nothing is not the correct answer, there is power in numbers. It the people who complained and voiced their opinions that got it removed so others wouldn't have to go thru that silly process

Ok, but the jist I got from the seminar is that they make sure the immigrants know their rights and what they're entitled too... from a Filipino perspective. Its a one day thing, not a 45 day issue. So while I like the idea of speeding the process along, I dont see anything wrong with going through the CFO. Its not even like its a drain on the wallet either.. Just think if we're going to pick our battles, lets pick a good one and CFO is insignificant.

Well he has certainly been around the immigration process long enough to be extremely knowledgable about it and has assisted countless people in successfully getting their Visas. Many of us owe a debt of gratitude to people like Greenbaum and Sagot.

Let me give you history of CFO from my personal experience. When it was done you went to a group of Catholic nuns at St. Mary's, and we done by them, basically a waste of time. Then couple years later when you went to CFO and it was at a location in Mania area you would have local banks as part of the seminar trying to get the fiancé to sign up for credit cards. My relative had his fiancé do CFO 15 years ago and they were telling the girls to make sure they remit money they make in the USA back into the PHilippines Social Security System.

CFO is based on a scam and to suck some more money out of Philipines Citizens, just like the Travel Tax. They have to get you one more time before you leave.

With CFO there were two choices for the seminar, PRISM or the nuns. There was a bank at the seminar when my wife did her CFO as well, but that was then and this is NOW.

NOW helps those completing this process. THEN is for sitting around with a beer and buddies...

Clark is not on the appointment system, I would tend to say it is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED .   Go back to the post near the beginning of this topic as it has a link to Clark CFO

We need to know what visa you are chasing/trying to acquire and what office do you want to attend CFO at?  Each has their requirements so it imperative we know the answer to those questions.

http://cfo.gov.ph        What type of visa you are chasing determines what CFO seminar you attend.

CFO

This is a Philippine government requirement, not a visa requirement, yet you can not exit the Philippines
without completing the CFO seminar to receive their sticker in your passport.

  • CFO/GCP   IR/CR-1 spouses and K-1 fiancees  attend GCP.  IR/CR-1 & K-1 can attend GCP before or after receiving your actual visa.
  • CFO/PDOS  Other I-130 visas; you must wait until you receive your visa package before scheduling/attending.
