Finance worries, please help

Hey all. I'm kind of nervous right now. My partner and I are just beginning to look into all of the aspects of the K1 (he's from England, I'm in the US) and the money expectations are what have me scared we might be denied. I'm currently a college student and we want to get married after I graduate. I'll have a job, but not a career since I'm just graduating. I see that I have to make 125% of the poverty line to be accepted. Do I have to have had that job for a year? Will it not being a career get me denied? Has this stopped anyone else? Maybe my parents would co-sponsor but I'd rather not. Please help. Anything to calm my worries just a bit.

A letter from your employer and a few pay stubs should be sufficient. This is required fr the interview, so you can initiate the K-1 process with the expectation you will meet the income requirements shortly after you graduate.

As above stated. As long as you are working and can show a few pay stubs(more the better) and a letter from your employer stating all information about your employment, and you make above the 100% poverty line(125% is for AOS later, but more is always better now) then you should not have any issues, especially because they will see you just graduated, or are about to graduate, so that means you will have better jobs available to you in the future.

If you still feel the worry or don't think you'll cover the requirement then you deifnately should get a co-sponsor. It can be any USC. A friend, other family memeber. Doesn't have to just be your parents.

Good luck!

London will certainly accept co-sponsorship and even self sponsorship if your fiancé makes a significant amount.

When will you graduate? Keep in mind that once you file the application it could take anywhere from 6 months to process, but it could also process much faster than that. If you aren't ready and employed at the correct amount by the time it's ready for your fiancé's interview, then there is no sense in filing if you aren't using a cosponsor. In addition, once your fiancé arrives and you marry you will need to file AOS, so there is that to consider as well with the financial situation.

Be ready first.
