Hi. I'm applying for my wife and am currently assembling my AOS and IV packets. Do they want to see proof of our relationship?

I notice on the document cover sheet they list Proof of Relationship under Financial Documents which makes me think it is only for joint sponsors and the like (which I don't need).

A related question: Does the NVC receive my full I-130 packet from the USCIS? And does this then go on to the interviewer at the Embassy? Because I already submitted tons of relationship proof in that packet and it would help our case for the interviewer to have those.

Thanks.

"Proof of relationship" for the NVC is listed under financial documents because it applies only to household members who have completed an I-864A. Those people must prove that they are a family member of the sponsor by way of marriage or birth certificate.

Note that you have sent evidence of your relationship to USCIS, not proof. Big difference.

You are correct. This is only if you are using a joint sponsor. Otherwise, it is not necessary.

Yes the NVC receives your complete package (although this is not usually reviewed by them) and they do forward it on to the Embassy. It's great that you submitted a lot of evidence already with the I-130, as consular officers may not look at any additional evidence you bring to the interview.

However, if you have any more strong evidence at the NVC stage (e.g., really strong financial documents, additional visits), you can, if you wish, forward this evidence to the NVC. This information will then be forwarded to the embassy/consulate as well.

For example, I will be making a trip to visit my wife over Christmas break, and recently added her as a card holder to my credit card. I will forward these to the NVC when my application reaches that stage.

We have also submitted our papers to NVC. However, it says that we need to submit marriage license, divorce papers, passport biographical page, police report to NVC. I already sent all that (except for police report) in our 130. Do we need to resend all those papers again? I asked this elsewhere and can't get an answer. It wasn't an RFE. Those are the things they ask for us to send in on the same page where it tells about financial proof for affidavit of support.

Yes, send everything then ask for even if you've already sent it. You needn't have sent the beneficiary birth certificate or passport copy to USCIS because those are not required there.
