change of name worry

soon i will marry my Romanian fiancee in Romania and i was wondering if anyone know what would be easier in the longrun as far as name changes on the marriage certificate.. her passport obviously still has her maiden name so if she takes my name do we have to change her passport so that when visa is given it will have her married name? she kinda want to keep her name since she figures it would be a hassle later on regarding changing passport name and also when we file I-130. i never been married i dont know what happens when we get married? are they gonna ask us if she want to change her name at the time of the civil ceremony? do we have the option to change it later? the point is i read allot of problems some ran into later due to marriage name and maiden name and dont know what the best plan is to avoid hassles later on? if anyone has married in Romania or someone has any advice it would be very appreciated..

Its really up to her if she wants to change name. I believe its optional at least for what I know majority of countries. I optedto change mine since my husband like the idea of me carrying his name and so do i. And yes need to process everything passport banks etc. So even i had my old passport during i130 filing i have indicated my changed name. Submitted new passport copy at NVC stage. So just agree to what wud u want.

Visa will be issued in passport name. Green card comes in visa name. So unless you want to pay $450 later, have her passport changed to reflect her married name if she wishes to take it to avoid hassle.

If she does not wish to change her name, she should not have to change her name.
