Last day at work today, and was wondering if anyone knows what the best reason for leaving my job should be on the paperwork from my job.

Want to be able to collect EI when I am eligible, if the need arises.

Any guidance on what was written on yours and how it was received by EI.

Many thanks in advance, entering on a K1 visa

Good question, but I'd probably take a look at this topic:

My last day at work is October 7th, so I'll be talking with my boss on how I should be classified too for EI later down the road.

I collected and was quite happy to - don't close all your Canadian bank accounts, make sit easier if you have a spot for direct deposit. Trying to cash a Canadian Check/cheque down here is annoying at best. Some folks end up signing it and sending it back home for the parents to cash.
