Hi All,

I have a greencard since a few months thru marriage.

Unfortunatly I have difficulties finding a job here in the USA.

I received an offer for a job overseas, this job will allow me to come back at least every 3 months on vacation and even almost once a month as I will be working for a VIP airlines with flight thru the USA.

My Question can I still keep my greecard or have the risk of losing it as I will be working overseas, My wife and I are agree that this job will be a great opportunities and will allow us to see each other often, As she will have flight benefit to come visit me and I will be back often here.

If someone can help with it.

If you spend 9-odd months outside the US, you're likely to eventually lose your GC. CBP can decipher your travel patterns.

Renounce the GC, get a C\D Crew visa and/or a B2. Once ready to live again in the US, have your spouse re-petition your IR-1.

You'll be fine with a re-entry permit. We returned over the summer from a two year work assignment in Europe using the re-entry permit to preserve the green card.

I think there is a guide somewhere here on how to apply for it. You only need to be present in the US for the biometric appointment that you will be requested for after you submit the application. After that, you can even elect to have it delivered to your foreign location at the nearest consulate.

The permit is good for two years. It cannot be renewed but you are free to apply for a new one when the old one expires.
