How to turn off e-mail notifications?

Hey guys,

I got like a few hundred e-mail notifications in the last few days due to being auto-subscribed to a couple of topics I replied to, so when I went into my settings to disable e-mail notifications altogether, I was surprised to see that the options were completely greyed out and defaulted to ENABLED, so I can't even disable them!

Please help, my e-mail is being flooded.

For every topic you replied to, there's a grey area on the top right of every first thread on the blue title banner. You should see it as "Unfollow this topic." Click on it. It will ask you one more time to validate if you want to unfollow. Click unfollow once again. The grey area will then show as "follow this topic." It means you're now unfollowed and shouldn't be getting any e-mail updates anymore.
