I was approved! Question about driving to the US with my belongings.

Hello!

My interview was yesterday morning in Montreal and I was approved.

The plan is for my mom to drive me to Boston with all my stuff pretty much as soon as I get my passport back in the mail. By stuff I mean all my clothes, 3 boxes with random things, a tv that's a couple years old and a small table. Enough stuff to fill up a hatchback car.

So really my question is: is this going to cause me any issues? am I allowed to bring a lot of stuff for my first entry? Is it legal?

If I am allowed to bring a lot of things, is there anything I should do in advance to make sure everything goes smoothly?

Yes when you activate your visa you can move your things duty free. Make a list of your items, a general one is fine.

You'll be fine - I drove with my stuff in a Uhaul but same concept. I was activating my Visa and had my list of contents (there are plenty of threads in this Canadian forum talking about moving)....they gave my list cursory look; and by that I mean they barely glanced at it...but I had it ready if needed. You can say 3 boxes clothing, 2 boxes books, 1 box XXXX.....not sure if electronics still need to be itemized with their serial numbers anymore. Doesn't have to be complicated.
