Hello everyone,

My husband and I are living with my In-laws. We do not pay rent or anything. Do they need to fill in any specific form stating that we are living at their house? or a Letter with this information will be enough?

Thank you!

Thank you!

We were on the same boat while doing AOS for my wife. We are paying rent but with no receipt so we did not include this as proof of commingling.

There are a lot more other evidences to send:

1. Joint Bank accounts / statements from Bank.

2. Joint credit card account / statements. I added her as my extension.

3. Life Insurance.

4. Auto Insurance.

5. Joint Tax returns (if any).

6. Medical Insurance / Dental / Vision.

7. Adding her to your 401K if any.

What are you adding to your AOS as evidence of commingling ?

Just make sure you have plenty of proof of commingling of assets! Everything that was mentioned by marinate were good examples of commingling of resources. You can also include receipts from hotels and flights (travel-related expenses). If you would like to include a letter from your In-Laws, I'm pretty sure that you can have them write a letter explaining the situation. Getting it notarized is also a good idea just to have that final seal of authenticity.

Hello,

Thank you for your response!!

We only have a joint back account so we are going to send copies of all bank statements and a letter from the bank stating when we opened our bank account. I was thinking on asking my mother in law to write a letter of support where she says that we are currently living with her.

We do not have any of the other papers you described since we just got married. We have been together for over 4 years so I am planning to send pictures and copies of flight tickets from our trips. I don't know if that will work but I don't know what else to send haha.
