Yes and No questions in N400..

Hello All VJ members,

i'm about to send the n400 form and i see some yes or no questions. some question mention if you answered yes for the previous question what i should do in that question? leave it with no answer ?

here some sample

  1. Were you EVER a part of any group, or did you EVER help any group, unit, or organization that used a weapon against any person, or threatened to do so?

    1. If you answered "Yes," when you were part of this group, or when you helped this group, did you ever use a weapon against another person?

    2. If you answered "Yes," when you were part of this group, or when you helped this group, did you ever tell another person that you would use a weapon against that person?

the answer on 14 is NO.. so what to answer to 14.A and 14.B? leave it without yes or no or must pick an answer?

also i read this on instructions and its seems scary

Item Numbers 1. - 50. Answer each question by selecting “Yes” or “No,” where applicable. If any part of a question applies to you or has ever applied to you, you must answer “Yes.” If you answer “Yes” to any of the questions in Item Numbers 1. - 44. in this part, include a typed or printed explanation on a separate sheet of paper. You may also provide evidence to support your answers. If you answer “No” to any question in Item Numbers 45. - 50., include a typed or printed explanation on a separate sheet of paper. Your answers, whether “Yes” or “No,” will not automatically cause your application to be denied.

If your answer to question 14 is "NO", then leave the other two questions blank.

It is pretty straight forward, and specifically tells you to only answer the additional questions below question 14 IF you answered yes.

07/28/2017 - day 340 - finally received an interview appointment in mail (online status has not changed).

06/01/2021 - day 1747 - with help of Sen. Sanders' office, I-751 file finally forwarded to St. Albans field office

06/28/2021 - day 1774 - I-751 status changed to 'New Card is Being Produced'; N400 status changed to 'Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled'

08/19/2021 - day 1826 (exactly 5 years since day 0) - Oath Ceremony (notice received on 7/19/21)

We are sending our packet today. Leave the secondary questions blank but read the primary questions very carefully. Most of them would usually be answered NO, but then the "direction" of the questions change (i.e., for your understanding of what becoming a US Citizen means). It is easy to get into a pattern of answering NO, so make sure you read every question! Good luck.
