Interview Experience AOS + Case held for review

Hey guys, yesterday (Sept 7th, 2016) my husband and I had our interview in the Los Angeles office. The IO who interviewed us was really nice, we talked to her for about 40 minutes and she asked a lot of questions about how we met - mostly about our school days, our classes, our first date... but nothing very specific, 95% of the questions were general, with just a couple specific ones like "do you remember what she was wearing on your first date?". She briefly looked over our photo album and that was it. We did talk a lot about other things though, like my husband's parents, etc.

After those questions about our relationship and looking over some photos, she started asking me (the beneficiary) those basic I-485 questions. She did not ask for ANY proof of relationship nor proof that we are living together - no joint account, car insurance, apartment lease with both of our names, etc (and we had all of those!)

Then she said said they were going to review the application but that everything should be fine in terms of documentation, she said she didn't think they needed anything else from us.

Then she took copy of my passport and my husband's ID and handed us that paper saying the case is being held for review.

Is this good news? I've read here that a lot of people were handed the same paper but I'm just wondering if in our case this is good. The fact that she didn't ask for any proof of our bonafide marriage...can't really tell if it's good or bad?

It is good. Most IOs are not authorized to approve/deny. So their supervisors have to rubber stamp it.

I just checked online and saw that the I-130 was accepted!! Now how long until the I-485 is too?? urrrgh this entire process is SO nerve wrecking and frustrating

Hi, my husband and I went on an interview yesterday. Everything seem to go well and we provided the IO with joint documents, however she gave us the paper saying our case is being held for review. The IO said she is new and need to talk to her supervisor, she also showed us the pile of cases she needs to review (there were tons of it). So now I am really nervous how long all the process will take, we just want this behind us so we can go on with our life and eventually try having a baby. Our interview was at 12:30 in Los Angeles office 6th floor. Any new update on your case?

Hey! It turns out we were approved on the 14th of October! I received the green card on that same week. SUCH A RELIEF! So basically a month waiting. We were freaking out because after doing some research we realized that the officer who interviewed us was the top supervisor in that office, so we thought that if she didn't approve us on the spot, something could be wrong with our case. It turns out I think there were really just a lot of cases to review... and we noticed during the interview that that was the first time she was actually looking at our application, so maybe it took a little longer also to make sure all the documents were there, etc.

Happy for you guys. What visa did you adjusted from? and how did you research about the IO? still freaking out (
