Still waiting on notice of receipt from NVC! (NOA2 18/10)

Just to make it clear as far as London embassy, is this order of events correct:

1. Get NVC case number

2. Schedule Medical

3. Check visa status and wait till ready

4. Fill out DS-160

5. Let them know im ready for interview

6. Schedule Interview & pay fee

Questions:

Do I have to wait till I receive a packet from the London embassy before I may schedule my interview?

Is there something I need to send back to them in this packet?

Am I missing something?

Do I need to take the nvc letter or NOA2 to the medical or just provide the case number?

Once you get the case number, you can start to track on CEAC.

Once CEAC says "in transit", you can complete the DS-160. You can also go ahead and schedule the medical, state readiness, pay the fee and schedule the medical. I would schedule medical atleast 2 weeks after your petition leaves the NVC in order to give time for it to be received (opened) by the Immigrant Visa Unit in London. Remember that your interview needs to be atleast 5 days after the medical. If in doubt, wait until CEAC changes to "ready". It will be about a week and a half after the petition leaves the NVC so it may be better to be safe than sorry. You won't be delayed much but then you don't run the risk of scheduling the medical for a date before your case is ready.

When you schedule the medical, they will ask you for information about you, the country the visa is for, your NVC #, and an email address. They have masses of times and dates available will very little notice so you can pretty much pick when you want the medical. They will make sure that you have received your police records before you schedule the medical so if you haven't requested them yet then this is something that you can be working on now whilst you wait for the NVC to receive you petition. You can also get the affidavit of support with evidence from your USC fiance.

On the scheduling website for the interview, you will be offered the earliest slot available. If this is too early, you can look at the other options. If you would like and interview even earlier, then take the earliest slot available and then check back twice a day since cancellations occur frequently and you can move you interview to one of these dates.

At the Medical (at Knightsbridge Doctors), you will need to take:

- Passport of UK Driving License (photo card not paper license)

- 4 x Identical Passport Sized Photos (UK or US size accepted)

- ACRO Police Certificate (or a copy) dated within 12 months for anyone 16 years of age or older

- Vaccination records

- Completed Medical Questionnaire (from the US Embassy website) with full UK address. Must also give full US intended address.

- A letter / email from the embassy / NVC to confirm your case number and visa category.

- Summary of medical history from GP (not full medical records) and reports covering and medical conditions, disabilites, and prior serious illnesses you have been treated for or anything ongoing. If you are generally fit and well and do not have any of the above, then you would not require a full medical history from your GP.

- If you wear glasses or contact lenses please bring then along to the appointment.

So basically, you will either need the letter (scanned copy) that the USC receives from the NVC, the letter that the benificiary receives from the embassy, or an email from either place.

I am at the stage of waiting for packet 3 so I will update you on what I find inside.

And do I need to get a flu shot before the medical because its winter?

If you don't have the flu vaccine, they will assess at the medical whether you need it. If you do, they will give it to you there and then. If this is the case, the cost will be £22 (16/11/16). I have mine done at Boots for £12.99

I had my medical scheduled but I had to push it back because they don't tell you about requiring the medical summary until the confirmation email after you schedule. This list I gave you is a direct copy of the list in the email I received.

Scheduled my interview on December 22nd! Enough time to finish my medical.

Hi KandS, question for you specifically - did you pay the visa fee online or at the bank? I saw you can pay for it online, but not sure if an account is needed with BPI or Bancnet to do so and if so, does the account need to be in beneficiary'a name?

I'm hoping I can schedule my beneficiary's interview date within a week or so of when you did your's because I'll be out there for the holidays and i'd really like to be able to go with her to her interview ?

Citizenship process complete!  First a J1 work/travel Visa visitor from Philippines to Texas where we met each other, then back to Philippines.  Ultimately, immigrated here via a K1 Marriage-based petition in 2016, AOS started in 2017, completed in 2018, ROC started/completed in 2020, N-400/Citzenship granted in 2022 - timeline link below:

There seems to be a lot of confusion around this... What exactly does an NVC status of "Ready" really mean?

I just had my status change to "Ready" this afternoon. But I'm not sure what that really means for me.

I haven't been able to find much info on the Chilean consulate or process in Chile, and haven't gotten a response from any of the other members here going through the process in Chile. The Chilean embassy web page is almost useless, and there's no way I've found to reach a live person there. fyi - I don't see any way to schedule an interview or pay a fee like other have indicated for other countries.

Thanks.

I paid over the counter it's safer for me. And yes you need an account to pay online but i think it doesnt necessarily mean it's under your name. If you want I can ask later since i also work in a bank. I'l call the department who handles online transactions. ?

I got the NVC case # over the phone about a week ago. I completed the medical and successfully scheduled the interview in 10 days. The case is listed as "Ready" on the CEAC website. However, Neither I received any letters from NVC nor I received the packet/communication from the embassay. Is this Ok? can I proceed to the interview w/o any of these letters (just with the general needed docs listed on the embassy website)?

Thanks

So i asked about paying online you can pay online using anyones account. If your fiace/e have relatives who have an account to local banks here you can use that to pay your visa. Almost all banks here in the philippine tied up with bancnet.

Questions plz. I've gotten my Case number on the 10th and my ceac status still shows AT NVC. I'm kinda worried tho because ive seen a lot of people here says their status has changed after couple of days.

Secondly, what other documents do i need to start putting together while waiting for consulate in Doha-Qatar to contact me? I have my police report with me already
