Yes they took the physical green card and the extension letter we brought with us. They said that the I-551 stamp overrides those others and is the current legal residency evidence.

Damn. I hope they let me keep the conditional GC.

Check my timeline for K-1 visa & AOS details

So I just called uscis for the first time since I filed last year. The rep told me that they working on July 2016 filers. So two months time I should hear something and if I don't hear anything by then I should call. I filed at VSC, this is crazy.

I have noticed from everyone that calls, that the agent just says whatever the timeline table on their website says, and do not provide the actual current processing date. In your case:

They're third party customer service agents contracted by USCIS to answer the phones so they don't have access to much. I work for a contractor of a major cable company and it's similar for us. We have access to basically nothing and our job is to get people off the phone.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16

November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

They let me keep my conditional GC although technically it has no "power" anymore since your stamp will overwrite your GC and I797.

If you apply N-400 you may need it since that's what they asked when I had my N400 biometrics 2 days ago. They didnt even check the expiry date though. Mine expired Oct 16.

Hey guys, at this moment, what i am worried about is having to go to the BMV to renew the license for another year.  Last year, when i had to renew the license, that big dude in that almost blown-hole chair gave me such a hard time.  He said "We don't approve your license renewal based on your 1-page Home Land Security letter, It doesn't mean anything to us".  I almost lost it when he said they don't listen to DHS, hahaha. But because i am the one who needed something, i just smiled even more cheerfully.  He told me to bring papers like "Proof of Residence and Driver License from my home country (utter nincompoop/pretty much racist i know)".  It took me one week and a lot practice using Uber to get it renewed :).  and let's hope by now, I hear somebody say "Oh! he was a good man" :D.  Anyways, congratulations to the VSC peeps.  Happy for you guys!! Yay!!

Go to another BMV. Some of them know how to do their job, unfortunately not all of them are smart.

It depends on the state. Mine is good until Christmas 2018 but some states make them expire when the green card does.

Oh I see, that's interesting! I realized after I posted that I'm the US citizen in my marriage so license rules may differ for GC holders. My husband never got one, so we wouldn't know. :)

Hopefully we won't need husband's green card for the N-400 biometrics as they took it away! But I'm guessing we should be ok if we explain that and show the I-551 stamp and N-400 biometrics appointment letter.

Nope, Like "Ketsuban" said it expires when the greed card does.  Now, How is it "United States" when you have different rules around? Shouldn't it say "Separate States of America?" :D SMH

Well, the officer did not even ask for it. When I came, I just told her I need an I-551 stamp for employer purposes. Then I gave her my I797 notice. She just stamped my passport after.

So maybe when you go there, just give them your notice, don't mention your GC. The I797 has all the information she needs.

hello guys, i'm glad i found this thread. I'm a September 2016 I751 filer too.

filed September 19, 2016 and i received noa on Sept. 22nd. i got my biometrics appointment on Nov. 9, 2016. then nothing else. no updates at all. is it normal?

I send my i-751 to Laguna Niguel, CA address, so it means it went to california service center right?

My 1-year extension letter for my GC will expire this coming December 2017. And looking at the thread on processing of Sept2016 i751 filers, it seems slow.

Now, guys i just want to know if just in case approval of i751 hasnt arrived yet (until expiration date), how soon should i request for an infopass to have my passport stamped i551?

i read some had there's stamped already. (my extension letter will expire Dec. 2017).

somebody guide me please. thanks :)
