Ghana Embassy: how far in advanced is the interview date set

Hi,

I have some questions. What's the process after the consulate receives info from NVC? Also, after returning the paperwork from packet 3 how soon was the interview date scheduled? I'm wondering because I've seen timelines where the packets are received and the interviews are scheduled months later. I don't know if that's because couples are taking they're time gathering information or if the embassy takes that long to schedule interviews. We've already started gathering evidence and info for the affidavit so we can quickly comply with the packet paperwork. We just want to be sure that were not waiting too long to recieve an interview date since we've already begun to make concrete plans for a wedding in April.

Hi, I think packet 3 & 4 are given the same time. You will get a notification on when to pick the packets up. The interview date (4) is received the same day with the instructions for interview packet 3.

From what I've seen, it seems about 4-6 weeks to get the packet then 2-3 months later you get the interview. It's a long haul.

From what I've seen, it seems about 4-6 weeks to get the packet then 2-3 months later you get the interview. It's a long haul.

Are you waiting to hear from the Consulate?

on the USCIS website it says "The NVC notifies the petitioner when it is time for the foreign fiancé/fiancée to apply for the visa."

Also I was reading on the state department website and it says

"The NVC will mail you a letter when it sends your fiancé(e) case to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Once you receive this letter, inform your fiancé(e) to take the below-listed actions to apply for a K-1 visa and prepare for the interview."

It seems like my fiance will need to contact or go to the embassy to schedule their interview and pick up the packets.

Someone else was telling me after they received a copy of the letter from NVC they scanned a copy to their fiance and the fiance went on a Wed. around 1pm with the letter and were scheduled to comeback later on in the day to pick up packets and schedule their interview.

I wonder if it would be helpful to submit DS 160 form online and bring the confirmation to embassy along with the NVC letter. I'm just looking for ways to speed up the process

I am waiting for them to send the call letter. I've heard in some cases you don't get the letter, in other cases the petitioner gets the letter and has to scan it to the beneficiary so that they can go in on a wednesday at 7:30am to check in then 2pm to get packet 3 & 4 (twice in one day). Someone in another post stated that you can also monitor the CAEC site for two status changes and screen shot them. For instance the status change of when the embassy receives the case and it is first marked as "ready" then there is a date change when they mail out the letter that is more current. Someone said they screen shot the change in dates of both cases and they were able to plead with officers to get the packets and also called NVC to confirm that the letter had been sent out...You can also email, but they may or may not respond, depending on if you have the correct email address or if they even care to respond. At times it takes 3 days, other times 3 weeks. These are the ways that I've noticed people have done it.

Is it possible to schedule interview online? I believe it may be possible but we are not at that point in this process.

I've created another thread discussing this:
