NOA2, now what?

My fiance and I received our NOA2 nearly 3 weeks ago. He's going to be coming from London. I know that our packet will be sent to the NVC and from there to London, but should he go ahead and schedule his medical now, or do we need to wait until London gets our packet? We naturally want him here as soon as possible, so if there is anything we can do to make it flow more smoothly once London gets our info, the better.

Thank you!

Jess

Can review your embassy info for a start

Do you have your case#? I think you would at least need that first.

Should have mentioned I'd read the guides, sorry! He was here for a visit when we got the approval, so everything he needed was sent back with him. I'd read in other forums that people had gotten their medical done before hearing from the embassy, but wasn't sure if that was embassy specific. I see now where London sends paperwork/links for him to set that up in the letter they send him, so I guess now we can just wait. Some more, lol ;)

It does vary from country to country, with that said most medicals require the NVC case number you can get that by calling the NVC (if they have recieved your file from USCIS and entered it in their system), so yes you can schedule before the file is at the embassy in your country if it in fact is needed for your medical.

You can call the clinic and ask if you can schedule the medical without having the case number yet. I did that, all that mattered was that I had the case number by the time of the medical. But booking the appointment didn't require it. In some cases it might be hard to know when you'll get the case number though.
