I am a stay at home mom so most of the question on the form I-864 i have no answer for, do I leave it blank? write N/A? and also do I have to write a letter explaining my situation?

Here's a little backstory that i hope will make it easier to understand my situation.

My daughter and I moved back with my mom when hubby and I decided to live in U.S because he got relocated to a more remote location for his job and also to save more money. My mom claims my daughter and I on her tax return. Since I am a SAHM and have no income of my own my mom is my co-sponsor.

Does she fill up form I-864 or I-864a?

On Part.6 of the I-864 #3 it says Income you are using from any other person who was counted in your household size, including, in certain conditions, the intending immigrant. Can I write my husband's name and income since he is the one supporting my daughter and I financially?

hi

are you filing for your husband? if so, his income doesn't count, unless he is legally working in the US

did he enter on a work visa?

did you file an adjustment of status for your husband?

You can only use your husband's become if it will continue from the same source when he immigrates. If he is leaving his job, the income he earns now doesn't count. If he is being transferred within the company, it can be counted.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

yes I am petitioning my husband, he still resides in Canada I am so confused with the form I-864 because I am a stay at home mom so about 50-70% of the question on the form I have no answer to. I currently live with my mom and she will be my co-sponsor so does she also fill out form I-864 even if we live in the same household?

Yes he will be leaving his job so I can't use his income. I guess the only main source of income will be my mom, so does she fill up form I-864 too? and do i have to write a letter explaining that i am a stay at home mom thats why i have no income of my own? or there's no need? 50% of the i-864 form I wrote N/A

I'm a SAHM also, so when I filled out the i-864 most of it was N/A. I included a letter stating why I was not required to file taxes (since that was what the instructions said to do). Your mom will need to fill out her own i-864 form... if you live with her she can fill out the i-864a form, but make sure to also include proof that you live together (I sent copies of our driver's licenses).

Hello just making sure, your joint sponsor also lives with you so he/she filled out form i-864a along with her proof of citizenship and copy of 3yrs tax return right? and for you just the form i-864?

Yes, that's correct. Don't forget to also make a letter stating why you were not required to file taxes.
