I have a K1 visa interview scheduled thursday in the Dominican Rep. I have worked and visted in the dr for 20 years and met my fiancee 4 years ago and we have been toghter ever since , while I visted and lots of proof. I have worked now for the dept of commernce in DC.

My fanicee was in a bad car accidente4 weeks ago and had surgrey at a private hospital and we had to purchase blood outside of the hospital. Well , we just got the results 2 days ago from the embassy medical exam and he contracted sphyloisis at its early stage. The embassy doctors in now requiring him to get 3 shotsover a 3 week period and our interview is in 2 days.

Questions: should we reschedule the interview, is there a chance they can now deny him because of this, the embassy doctors are saying this is not a big deal....not sure , we are nervious.

Has anyone heard how many same sex k1 visa they have approved. I know the US ambassdor is in a same sex marrigae here.

Just so nervious on what to do. I am interested in knowing peoples thoughts and recommendations. Does the embassy frown on same sex marrigae

The embassy does not frown on same sex marriages.

Your fiance will need to get his syphilis cured before he can get the visa. Having that disease causes a denial.

Good luck,

You are linking it with the blood transfusion? How do you know that is the case?

I don't do PMs. You can ask your questions here. His visa will be held until the syphilis is gone, but I am not sure how that works in practice. He will probably have to prove that he got all the treatment and possibly have another test to confirm he is negative.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes others have said that a majority will provide a open appt after the intial interview. The emabssy doctors said 3 shots at the approved embassy doctors and he should be fine. It is just a 3 week delay. Matter pf fact he got his first shot on Monday and we got him tested today and it´s gone...However, we have to follow the embassy approved doctors instructions.

Thanks everyone!
