Hey sorry it's taken me forever to respond. Getting back this week plus jumping immediately into work threw me for a loop.

As far as how long I would stay, I'm not sure. Indefinitely. The whole time we were engaged, we always thought that if we had our way, we'd get married here in the US, have our kids, then by the time we were finished and they were around school age, we'd move back to Ghana more permanently. While we definitely want to have our children in the US, we don't necessarily want to raise them here. Even though now the order has kind of changed, the ultimate plan hasn't really, assuming he gets his CR1.

I think the COL is definitely higher in the US. I feel like I have a ton of bills here that I wouldn't necessarily have back in Ghana. My car, my insurance, my apartment rent....all incredibly high. Then again, I guess it depends on where you live in the US. I'm in Atlanta, so being in the city definitely has its drawbacks as far as that's concerned.

It's more easy if you rent, finish your lease and move, so you save the rent money and you are right, American bills are high. If you don't have mortgage to pay, all bills around it and the car, it's realatively easy to move

We were also denied on our K1 in April I am currently in Ghana and plan to stay for 2 months to just spend time and do traditional marriage and time and we will file when I return. I also thought about moving to Ghana but am unsure the cost of living can be high unless you can live like the locals. I definitely understand how difficult it is dealing with the embassy, my congresswoman got involved in our case as well and there was no real clear evidence that they had to deny the visa. But Goodluck to all of us second time arounders

You're not going to file another K1 are you? You plan to also register your marriage and file IR1/CR1?

Yes it can be expensive, if you ever notice when your out they always wanna charge more because of being American, this drives my husband crazy sometimes, but it's easier for me since I kinda look like them lol, there are times when he says for me to not talk so we pay regular price for things, that is how they are in Ghana

Ha, so true, when I travel to Liberia we tell them we don't want the white lady price or I stay behind and then go with after he's made arrangements !!! ???
