My fiance is at the step to pay her fees but there is an expiration date of August 22. I don't know if she will have the funds by then pay this. What is this expiration date? What if it can't be paid by then? And why the @@@@ can't I easily pay this for her with a credit card? She is in Venezuela and getting her cash is not easy - even with Western Union. Does anyone have any information as to what this expiration date means?

Thanks. Please see the attached pic. This is for a K-1 finance visa.

My fiance is at the step to pay her fees but there is an expiration date of August 22. I don't know if she will have the funds by then pay this. What is this expiration date? It is likely the expiration date on your approved I-129F petition. What if it can't be paid by then? The petition will expire, which no bueno.. And why the @@@@ can't I easily pay this for her with a credit card? Please refrain from using profanity, this is a family site. Their instructions/requirements likely tell mention the approved methods of payment. She is in Venezuela and getting her cash is not easy - even with Western Union. Does anyone have any information as to what this expiration date means? Mentioned above and also below.

Thanks. Please see the attached pic. This is for a K-1 finance visa.

Welcome to the forum.

Please review the DOS Non-Immigrant K1 visa FAQS, in particular, this one:

My Petition Expired – Can It Be Extended?

The I-129F petition is valid for four months from the date of approval by USCIS. A consular officer can extend the validity of the petition if it expires before visa processing is completed.

REF: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/family/fiance-k-1.html#11

Suggest that you and/or your fiancee contact the embassy/consulate and discuss your payment funding situation and request an extension in order to obtain proper funding, nowish... Consular officials can and usually extend the petition expiration date, so that is can be processed, for various reasons. Other possible issues that can cause delays include, medical appointments and interview appointment. You can imagine that if your answer is found in the FAQs, these types of situations can occur frequently.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

There isn't a problem if you let it expire. When you are ready to pay the fee recreate a new visa payment and pay the fee. Once the fee is paid then schedule your interview. Simple.
