Hi everyone! Does anybody knows how long it will take to receive the police clearance from Germany? It's been a month since I sent the request to Bundesamt für Justiz in Bonn,Germany and when i tracked it, it was delivered and received by one of their employees there. Your help will be appreciated, Thank you in advance.

Do you mean the "polizeiliches Führungszeugnis?"

I requested mine at the local Meldeamt and I think I got it sent to me a week or two, tops, later... It was pretty quick, even with the Hague apostille added.

Oh i envy you! But i am now here in the Philippines so i was thinking maybe it depends on where i am located. And also I'm wondering if they can send it to me even if i was not a registered resident when i was there for like almost 2 years because when my husband was deployed in Germany i only got there thru SOFA card because he's in the Army. t

Oh, I see. I'm sorry, that's a very special situation and I have no clue. How they handle that. Did you try and call them?

I hope you'll hear back from them soon!

Gracey, I just saw this link here, unfortunately not too helpful as hey don't give an estimate on how long it takes for the clearance to be delivered; but maybe you'd still like to take a look (if you subnet already)

Sorry didn't read your message carefully. I hope you got your police certificate by this time. But for those who don't have registration in Germany but need the certificate:

You need to order at the Burgerbüro even if you are not registered in Germany. They most of the time dont know their own rules and can turn you awa but you go to that Buro and state from the Justiz website that people without registration get it ordered from the Burgerbüro. I even printed out the page and gave them to read. Then a staff member at the buro orders it online in front of me. That's how I did it before. Sorry if I misspell German words

Hi!

I actually just went and told them I wanted it, too. I then paid it upon delivery (Nachname).

But I think I didn't end up needing it.

Did you go all the way to Bonn to order it? I ordered at the Burgerburo last time if I am not confusing the name of the office but it was without apostille. This time I guess I need the Apostille most likely as I need it for the states.

I went to the Meldeamt - that's the name of it in my city, but I think it's the same as Bürgeramt or Bürgerbüro. I jus told the lady there that I'd like to get my "polizeiliches Führungszeugnis mit Haager Apostille" and she forwarded the whole request.

I did not have to go to Bonn at all. It took roughly a week for it to then get delivered.

I did send it out with my visa application, but I saw that they didn't even copy the Apostille. (But I didn't have anything in my police record. Maybe that's why...)

No need for an Apostille. I got mine without, and it was absolutetely fine for visa purposes.
