My friend's fiancé's daughter got denied a K-2 visa due to her age. They were interviewed the same time June 23rd before her 21st bday which is July 8th. They couldn't come for interview sooner because of paperwork they were waiting on from Bahrain for his fiancé. At the interview They kept her daughter's passport & told her to bring a Cenomar, consul didnt say anything about her age. Now they got a letter dated just 20 days after her bday July 29th saying she's not eligible for visa due to her age.

Is there anyway to appeal this case? Would she be able to apply for a tourist visa?

Why a tourist visa? The daughter was that close to an immigrant visa to live in the US but now that she didn't get it she only wants to visit?

She's going to be part of the big wedding. Then come home and wait for her mom's petition. While waiting she'll continue to manage a small business with her fiancé.

She can apply for a tourist visa, but given the circumstances, chances of getting one is small.

Other option: do a small legal ceremony as soon as the mom arrives, then go back to the Phils for a big wedding?
