Hello everyone,

My name is Nimmy James. I am an American citizen and my husband is a green card holder. He got his permanent residency towards the beginning of this year. He wants to bring his parents on a visiting visa or something along those lines. I've been trying to figure out which form to submit to start this process and i cant seem to figure it out. Can someone please help me?

Which form do i fill out for a visiting visa?

Whats the process that i have to follow?

The tile of your post is "immigration process" but you are talking about tourist visas. They are two completely different things.

If they are coming to visit you then need to apply, completely on their own, for tourist visas. This will involve submitting a form online and attending an interview at the US consulate where they live.

Immigration is when people go to live in another country. If they want to move to the USA permanently you will have to petition for them with form i-130. That whole process will take about a year.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

 

Now a US citizen!

Your husband doesn't "bring" his parents on a visiting visa. His parents apply.. that is.. they submit an online application for a B2 visa, pay the fee, and attend an interview at the US embassy.

It would help us guide you if you specify what country his parents are in.
