lost_at_sea, we were just in San Fran visiting family. You're right, the traffic can be bad, especially crossing the Golden Gate by Solsolito. Beautiful city, though.

We are (yay) going over the questions over and over as well. Some of those questions your average American wouldn't recall/know. :/

Hey August filers! Since we're all just about done with biometrics and have a couple of months of waiting ahead of us, I thought it'd be helpful to put together a list of documents/evidence to bring to our interviews. In reading some of the interview experiences of folks in the earlier month forums, it seems that although most interviewers just ask for passports/green cards, every so often there are unusual requests so it is best to be prepared and have the docs ready to hand over instead of having to submit it later and have even more delays. So, below is a first start. Please feel free to quote/reply to add in anything you've seen interviewers request and we'll end up with a pretty comprehensive list. Cheers!

Documents to Bring to Naturalization Interview:

  1. Copy of interview Notice
  2. Green Card
  3. Drivers License
  4. Passport(s) (Note: If the travel out of the US listed in the N400 was done on a prior passport, bring the old passport too b/c some officers seem to want to match up the dates in the N400 with the stamps in the passport)
  5. List/dates of any travel outside US since the N400 was submitted
  6. Marriage bona fides (tax returns/transcripts for last 3 years, a couple of joint bank statements, etc.) (Not sure if this is only req'd for 3-year rule applicants)
  7. Original marriage certificate
  8. Your birth certificate (an applicant got this request at interview earlier this year, which was surprising since we all submitted this for GC application and I had to get mine officially translated)
  9. Kids' birth certificates
  10. Evidence showing that you have paid off any traffic tickets
  11. Any recent awards/commendations to show good moral character (doesn't seem to be a big focus at interviews, but again, better to be prepared)

I didn't see anyone replying to this... looks like a good list and a great topic. It will be exciting to see when the "In Line" dates start to appear!

Just back from biometrics. Thank fully, my super-moisturising plan paid off and my hands are super smooth and it went without a hitch. Wish I had managed to go in sooner because the traffic in SF sucks in the morning, but I don't suppose it really makes much of a difference.

Now, I shall twiddle my thumbs until interview. Oh, I guess I should read this studying for the test booklet they gave me, huh?

In regards to #s - I applied via Phoenix, because I'm in CA. My NOA letter came from the NBC and I have an IOE#. Not sure if that's good or bad for whoever is keeping track right now. I got 2 NOA letters - one about setting up the online account and one regular NOA.

I got 2 NOA's as well!

Wishing all the ones with IOE numbers good luck!

I'm tad nervous because it looks like SF processing times can go as long as 200 days. But I've seen some as short as 140...

25 January 2010: Concurrent filing of I-130, I-485, EAD and AP - sent via UPS overnight delivery to Chicago Lockbox

26 January 2010: Received by receptionist CHIBA at 8:30 AM/Received date on NOA

02 February 2010: Checked cashed/Notice date

05 February 2010: Received NOA's for I-130,I-485,I-131,I-130

13 February 2010: Received ASC Appointment Notice for Biometrics.

17 February 2010: Date of RFE for Federal Tax 1040/Received Text & Email confirmation

19 February 2010: Received RFE in mail

22 February 2010: Mailed Response to RFE via USPS Express mail

24 February 2010: Package delivered and received at Lee's Summit office

26 February 2010: Biometrics DONE/RFE Received-case processing resumed

17 March 2010: Email approval notifications - EAD & AP.

22 March 2010: Received AP by mail. Received interview schedule notice for 22 April.

22 April 2010: Greencard Approved :)

Removal of Conditions

24 January 2012: Sent I-751 petition via USPS Overnight

25 January 2012: Delivered at CSC, Receipt Date NOA1

27 January 2012: Checked cashed

30 January 2012: Received NOA in mail.

06 February 2012: Received Biometrics notice (dated 03 Feb)

02 March 2012: Biometrics appointment.

We also received two NoA1's. The first was to set up an online account, the other with an IOE number. Looking at the previous month's filers, it does appear the NBC numbers are getting a much faster interview date. Who knows. We are used to the waiting game with this entire process, as our timeline shows. No RFE's, but man, a loooonnnnggg wait for each step.

Happy to report I did my Biometrics this morning. I had an 11 AM appointment but went in at 9 AM and was out within 10 minutes! By the way, I applied at the Texas Lockbox location and I got an NBC* number even though I used the most current forms. Now the waiting game begins, fingers crossed - time to study for the test...

@nike0213

Order of Biometrics appointment:

1.) Digital Fingerprinting

2.) Photograph

3.) Signature

The clerk showed me everything before I signed (my picture and all my fingerprints) and then gave me a feedback form and told me I was free to go. She was very pleasant and conversational, but professional.

Hello August filers,

I received my NOA that my application was received on Sept. 7. I still have had no further notice regarding a biometrics date. I am in Florida, through the texas lockbox. It appears to me people are getting notice of a fingerprinting date quite soon after their NOA. What is everyone getting? Do some people not get the biometrics appointment at all? I am filing as married and over 3 years. Thank you!

Hi there!

What field office in Florida?

I received my fingerprint notification about a week or so after my CC was charged. I am also in Florida. I've had my FP done and no change has happened since then. It seems I'm in for a long wait now. Can you log in to your online account? I saw the biometrics notification there a few days before I received the paper notice.Good luck!

I am not sure I believe I would be going to Tampa since I am in Southwest florida near sarasota.

I have been logging on to case status but still nothing. I guess after month I will try to contact them but it's only been under 2 weeks since i received my notice. Yes if the timing of about 5 months is correct you should be hearing something soon!

If you filed using the new form (and have received a 2nd NOA with an online access code), you can create an account at https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ using the access code and under the new system, you can not only see all the notices but download PDF copies for them too.
