Strictly speaking, the Agent of Choice is a person here in the US, that will receive information regarding a pending petiton....have the "power of attorney" so to speak to mail in form/fees/ and documentation. The agent of choice is designated at some point in the petition process, and then tha person takes over....and is notified w/ any progress on the petiton in question.

But if your petition is a K1, you don't have to worry about this. For the K-1 visa you do not have the "agent of choice" option.

No, this is used in the case where a Lawyer is handling the case, and you want the paper work sent to the lawyer.

In our case, I got the NOA1, and NOA2 letters, and my fiancee received the Packet 3, and 4 in her country.

Choice of agent would have sent the Packet 3 and 4 to a third-party (Lawyer) or back to the USA to me (US Citizen petitioner)

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

K visas need no agent of choice. It would just delay your process. CR and IR visa applicants can benefit from having the US petitioner be the agent.

I thought that the way the K-1 visa process is set up in such a way that Agent of Choice is not an option, meaning you cannot chose this even if you wanted to.

That is correct except that your attorney can gum up the works by funnelling the P3 and NOA's through their office.
