I had a friend that got her Visa two months ago at Abo Dhabi ...here is some links and information that will help you...

Steps required to apply for a US Visa

If required to apply for a Visa to travel to the United States the process includes the following steps:

  1. Determine the type of Visa required to travel to the United States. Information about Visa types can be found athttps://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en.html.
  2. Complete the online visa application form, DS-160. The DS-160 is a U.S. Government on-line form and can only be completed athttps://ceac.state.gov/CEAC. Each applicant must complete this form before using any services on this website.
  3. Return to this website and complete the following application steps to schedule a Consular Section appointment:
    • Create a user account
    • Enter the DS-160 confirmation number for each applicant applying for a Visa
    • Complete the courier document return process
    • Pay the Nonimmigrant Visa (MRV) application fee(s)
    • Schedule a Consular Section appointment
  4. Attend the Consular Section appointment.
  5. After Consular Section interview, check this website for visa status and delivery information.

This is the link below to create account online and make your payment...After you make the payment you will receive confirmation number...Packet 3 will be emailed to the petitioner with all required documents for the fiance to bring to the interview...The petitioner can make the fee payment online....embassy will set up the date for your interview when they have one open...You will be notified and you can always log back in to the account your create it for any activities...

Actually I think the K is considered an immigrant visa by ABD so you would create your account here: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ae/iv

We were also able to use that same website and book our interview and pay your fees. ABD lets you book your own interview. It's important to complete your DS-160 first as it will ask you for that confirmation number when booking your interview as well as your NVC case number.

When you apply online and fill out the DS-160 you fill it out under none immigrant visa, but during the questioning process, you will have to answer a question of the type of Visa you are applying for and from the pull down menu, K1 fiance visa will be listed. Also, there is another place to type in your NOA2 receipt number form the I-797

The K visa is special as it is a non-immigrant visa with INTENT to immigrate so you find it on both immigrant and non-immigrant sections on various websites and it can become confusing.

Yes, you need to complete the DS-160 and that is found in the non-immigrant section of the state dept website; however, specifically for Abu Dhabi you need to schedule your interview through the immigrant section of their embassy, i.e., through the website I provided. You will not be able to find the K visa under the https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ae/niv website and you'll hit a wall after starting your application and will have to go through https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ae/iv. ABD treats the K1 as an immigrant visa and actually instructs you to schedule the interview through their immigrant unit. Here's the link and look at Q11 https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ae/iv

Thanks OP! I will reply to the PM with more details as their website tends to be confusing sometimes on the specific steps we took.
