I need help with the I-134

I am the petitioner and I do not meet the poverty guideline.

so my dad is willing to be the sponsor for my fiancee.

so how do we count the household for the poverty guideline?

My dad will be sponsoring my fiancee on the I-134

Theoretically it's 100 %, but many embassies like to see 125 % because that will be required with the subsequent AOS.

I just got my job in March so haven't file for any tax returns....but can I just use assets to sponsor my fiancee?

Theoretically. Remember that the amount needed is much more than when using income (3x).

Is your current annual salary above the threshold? If so you could use a letter of employment and recent paystubs.

Yes I started my job at the end of March. (I filed I-129F on March 14.) I am estimating of making $40k annually.

I just got my employment letter from my boss.

So on I-134 form...the line says "I derive an annual income of:" do I put 40k there? Or just leave it blank and just attach a copy of the employment letter?

Yes, you put your current annual income there. Provide the employment letter and recent pay stubs to show how much you are earning. You should not need a co-sponsor, but you can also bring your father's I-134 and supporting documents, just in case.

If using assets, the amount is 3 times what you are short on income. So if your income is $15k and you need $20k, then you are short $5k and would need at least $15k in assets. Someone with no income would need around $60k.

The I-134 instructions are vague. If you want to know the details, then read through the I-864 instructions. You will need that form later for AOS anyway and everyone should read them.
