It is my conclusion after much thought about this process that the D.o.S. must have some known statistic out there lingering regarding the failure rate of relationships via K-1's. I think they purposely inject stress into the process by way of delays, overly exhaustive detailed requirements, and random changing requirements in order to weed out those relationships which are genuine and true. My fiance in Quezon City has been through absolute h$&&. For 6 months she's been trying to go through this process and each and every turn has been a challenge. We are now in 'Administrative Process' after the embassy interview 2 weeks ago. I don't expect issuance any time soon as the embassy asked her for a 'second' birth certificate. A 2nd B.C. is not written anywhere that I can find. It's so frustrating. She went to NSO/PSA and they sent an extra copy to the embassy. She had her Red Ribbon and all associated documents with her when she interviewed. The same B.C. she presented to the embassy was used to acquire her passport which took many many months due to a last name problem.

In any event, just my opinion base on experience and over analysis.

I heared that before...but unfortunatly not much we can do we are the puppets in a string for as long as they want....

If my relationship breaks well better now then after and i need to divorse ? But thats just my little opinion....

For sure a rant, but not the reality of the process.

Red ribbon documents are not requested, nor of any value for the interview process. Embassy does not require TWO BCs , the embassy requesting documents directly from PSA tends to state they had issue with the documents provided during the interview (but I noted this in a previous post regarding your issue). Philippines is a listed fraud country and it tends to relate to fraudulent documents. Just saying..

A 221g for additional documents almost always adds a couple weeks to the process over normal processing time (sometimes even longer), so being a couple weeks in AP is fairly normal.

Nothing has been "tossed into the mix" by DoS to cause stress, yes there are changes to the process from time to time, but they are notated on the government website and forms when it happens. Some of us try to keep information available to easy the processing stress. I know of a few thousand before you that did this process without issue, or undue stress...

A little more patience

I just got more news this morning that I didn't previously have. Extracting non-volunteered information is quite the challenge. She was not given a 221g. But there was a request for her to get a second b.c. and cenomar. I'm not certain why. She also was told by a lady she interfaced with at the embassy immediately following the interview with the c.o. that there would be an email sent to her. I am not certain if the email would be 'your visa is issued' or 'please do this this and this before you can get a visa'. Does the embassy email out 'visa issued' status updates? We're still in AP and I think it'll be a long long time being there too.

If the request for the documents was in writing, that was the 221g. The 221g is a request for additional documents/information Most times the embassy emails this request .. most times, I know of a few (before you) where they dropped the ball on emailing the request, so a follow up was required.

Nope the embassy does not email out a notice of visa being issued, you have to keep track on CEAC or your dashboard on USTRAVELDOCS.

Normally processing can be a couple weeks (for us it was about 10 days), so tossing in a need for additional documents it could easily be a month or so of AP. There is no normal to this process as each application is different, I have seen some changed to issued the next day and some that have gone for upward of 6 months.

Hope your wait will soon be over.

Patience for now.
