I googled the archive and found some threads on this, but no conclusive answer. Will USCIS schedule the interview according to the mailing or physical address?

My understanding is that it should be your physical address that counts. This is because there's District Courts and USCIS Field Offices have jurisdiction over people living within their areas of responsibility.

If you live in Manchester, NH but for some reason you want your mail sent to Miami, FL, the Miami Field Office would have no jurisdiction over your case and a court in Florida would not naturalize you. If you show up for an interview in Miami, the first thing they'll ask for is proof that you've been living in FL for 3 months before you applied.

Now, USCIS does sometimes make mistakes; and if the two addresses are in the same state it may not make a difference. So there's a chance you may get an interview at the Field Office corresponding to your mailing address, but that's not how it's supposed to work.

That's my interpretation, but I don't have any hard facts to back it up.

I agree with the previous poster that USCIS uses the physical address. I could be living in New Jersey but commuting to New York City for work. I can put my Office address as the mailing address as i want to receive my mails in the office. USCIS will highly unlikely schedule my interview in New York City Office.

This is interesting. I wonder what USCIS does if the mailing/physical addresses are in the same state but relatively far apart? IE San Diego/San Francisco?

They will go with your physical address.
