So POE will be Detroit, I have read all the POE reviews for that.

Can someone direct me specifically please? Once off the plane (we arrive in the afternoon), where do I go? Do I stand with my USC husband and child in the US citizens line or what? The baby will NOT want to be away from me so we need to stay all together.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

We are immigrating so no green card yet, just visa.

We have about 2 1/2 hrs between flights.

All reviews on Detroit say they were in and out really fast, not hours

My only consideration is the baby, she will be ONE CRANKY TOT!!!

There is often a separate line for new immigrants at large airports. If in doubt, ask one of the crowd controllers in the immigration hall. As you are travelling with young children and have a connection to make, the logical thing would be that they would either let you go through with USCs or direct you to a separate desk for new immigrants. It would be ridiculous to make you join the main queue for visitors when you are not.

At DTW, the line for visitors is often faster than the resident/citizen line. Hopefully they'll be nice enough to let you go in the one that is faster at the time.

DTW is usually quick, but with three visas to activate, a cranky toddler, re-checking luggage for five, a cat and going back through security? Let's hope you don't have to change terminals for the domestic flight at least. Not trying to be negative - it might be just fine!

I've only flown domestically on Delta but I can say it was a good experience. I imagine an international flight would be as good or better.

Delta has always been great to us. Detroit POE can be a little busy. My wife always goes through the USC's line with me. She has been directed to secondary a couple of times....she was using her B-2. You can rent a car to get to GR for less than $45.00. We go to Charlevoix and it is only $55.00 booking the rental through Delta. Have a great trip We will be right behind you )
