unable to obtain a police report

Hello all,

I tried to find some information on this topic but came up with nothing so I apologize if this is a redundant post.

Me and my Fiancé are April filers (2016) . She is in France.

We are confident that we provided everything needed to get our NOA2 but she is freaking out a bit because, she was previously married to a soldier and went with him to live in Sinaga Africa while he was on active duty. Anyway she lived there for a few years until his tour had ended.

She has been trying to line up everything she needs for the interview at the embassy but repeated phone calls and e mails to Sinaga have turned up nothing! They are telling her they have nothing on file for her and will not even send her a letter stating there is nothing on her record there. So, she will not be able to provide a police record from Sinaga and she is scared it will cause her problems at the interview.

Surely, this has happened before to others in the world? Will she be ok?

if the US, it would be possible to contact his former unit and get some information

Did she get divorced?

He is a French soldier and yes they are divorced otherwise we wouldn't be applying for a k-1 lol

I spelled it wrong its Senegal and the town was Dakar. She has called and spoke them repeatedly but they wont help her so now she wont have a police clearance from there.

Is there no one on here that can help? I have read that there are indeed countries where you cannot obtain a police record but Senegal was not on that list. She cannot get anything through her ex from the army and the consulate in Senegal said they cannot nor will not be able to help her because there is nothing to provide and they wont write her a letter stating that fact.

is there no one that has encountered this?

there is a lot fo infos on the wikinet about how to get it https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country/SG.html , maybe she has friend over there that can still help her and go fo her?

Im sure everything is gonna be fine, sometimes you need to call again and again!
