My stepmother's sister filled an application for her in 2003. She and my dad got married last year after my 18th birthday, I'm 19 now. They asked for my birth certificate and my dad's, but I read that because their marriage took place after my 18th birthday I won't be eligible for following to join benefits.

What is your question?

If you are wondering if you will be able to join them when they come then the information you got is correct. You will not be a direct beneficiary.

Thank you for replying. What are my options in that case? Because I live with them and I don't know what my situation would be without them

Sorry. They will immigrate and you will not.

Once your mother becomes an LPR, she can file for you. If you are lucky and don't age out when you turn 21, it will be about 2 years for a visa. If you do age out when you turn 21, then it will be about 7 years for a visa.

hi

as said, you don't qualify, so you and your family better start making plans on how are you going to live by yourself or with a relative, if you don't have a job, get one so you can live on your own without your parents

hi

nope, he has to start a new petition from scratch, It has nothing to do with the current petition and will have its own time of waiting depending on your age and how long it takes

from a couple of years to many years

Once my dad becomes a LPR he has to file a petition for me? Yes. Once your dad becomes an LPR, he can file for you. It you don't age out at 21, then it's about 2 years for a visa. If you do age out at 21, then it's about 7 years for a visa.

or can he just call and notify that he has a child that couldn't accompany him so that they issue a visa? No. That's not how the system works.
