hello guys,

just a quick question.

my wife is scheduled for an ir1 visa next week and we made a mistake when filling the visa application. instead of November, October was mistakenly selected from the drop down menu.

i called NVC as soon as i saw the mistake and they told me she can correct it at the Ghana embassy once she goes for the interview.

we've been married for 3 years now and have a son who was given a us passport and citizenship certificate by the Accra embassy.

1. will that be an issue?

2. what documents exactly do we need apart from the official documents. we have some pics, dates of visits, whatsapp chats, moneygram receipts. my wife also went there somemonths ago for my son's US passport and Report of birth abroad certificate.

any kind of answer will help a lot

Well as far as the evidence goes you can add what you mentioned along with call logs from WhatsApp and phone, a copy of the travel stamps from your passport as proof of your visits, a lot of pictures from beginning of relationship to current (add pics of not only you and her but also with your son and you with her family vise versa if possible), a copy of son's birth certificate with you and wife's names listed as the parents, emails, mailing receipts, letters exchanged. Make sure she takes a lot of quality evidence. My husband went for his interview yesterday and said that a lot of people were denied because they didn't go prepared. All the best to you two!

1. I did the same on my DS-260. I was too quick with the mouse and clicked 24 instead of 23. I didn't notice until I looked through my papers just before I inmigrated so I guess either the CO didn't notice or he felt it was an honest mistake because he never mentioned it at my interview. With that said, I interviewed at the embassy in Sweden, which is an easy embassy to deal with. Your wife is going through Ghana, which is a super tough embassy so be prepared for scrutiny.

2. Bring as much evidence as you can. Are you going with her to the interview?
