How long after spouse enters US by IR1 visa can they become US Citizen? How early can you apply?

My spouse and step child entered the US 2/2014 and will be in the United States almost 2 1/2 years. How early can we start sending the paperwork?

If you are a US citizen and your husband entered the US with Ir1 Visa. Than he can apply 3 years minus 90 days ( not 3 months) before his resident since date on his card. If the kid is a minor on the date the resident becomes a citizen the kid becomes a citizen automatically.

Google "USCIS naturalization calculator" and enter the date of the 3rd anniversary of having her green card. It will give you the earliest filing date.

Personally, I would wait a few days to make sure rather than time it to 90 days exact.
