Question about process while living abroad

I have been living with my wife in El Salvador for the past 6 months and we are expecting a child in September.

I may need to head back to the states soon and I want to bring my wife as she is pregnant and I do not want to be separated but I have urgent matter in the states.

My coworker told me to use rapidvisa.com and I am looking into that, I am not happy about the length of the process.

Do I need to be in the states to even start the process or can I start here? Does waiting a baby speed up the process?

Any tips suggestions are appreciated

You can start the process while abroad, no problem.

Using a visa prep service won't make the process faster, it takes about a year. However, if you are not good at filling in detailed forms, a visa prep service or lawyer can help make sure there are no delays from RFEs (requests for further evidence).

No, being pregnant/ having a baby will not make the process faster.

Does your wife have a tourist visa to the USA? if she, and you need to move back to the US for whatever reason, she can visit with that, but she cannot immigrate/ live in/ work in the USA with the tourist visa.

There is no way to speed up the visa process, it is what it is, please do not spend more money then you already are thinking some service is going to do a quicker job. You can however check to see if El Salvador has DCF, in some countries that cuts back on the wait time quite a bit. You can start the process while living abroad (I did that myself). Unfortunately the baby waiting does not speed up the process. Good luck to you.

From what i understand is you compile your I-130 packet for the CR-1 visa, and submit that directly or by mail to the embassy. A friend of mine recently did this in Peru and got her Noa2 in less then a month, she is preparing for her interview now. Your best bet to begin is go head and contact the embassy by email with your questions. Also I notice you are new, go to the El Salvador portal here on VJ, you may be able to find others who have already done this. Lots of luck to you! I was so stupid and didn't realize there was DCF in my husband's country, we went through an entire year for the visa, where as others were done in a few short months.
