So when you check for the status at NVC through ceac its under Immigrant right??? We use rapidvisa service and we informed them that we have our MCN but they emails us back and asked why our MCN is under immigrant and we need to call NVC to verify. So called NVC and I was told that the MCN is right and its for K-1. So confused.

Yes, it's immigrant. The assigned number should be MNL2016XXXXXX. I've never heard of MCN. Here is an explanation of how it works:

NVC Assigns the Case Number in the format LLLNNNNNNNNNN Where: LLL is three letter code of the Foreign U.S consulate where beneficiary appears, first NNNN is the four digit year NVC assigned the Case Number, second NNN (263) is 500 plus the three digit Julian Date NVC assigned the case, last NNN is the three digit serial number of the day NVC assigned the case. For example, if your case is at Chennai, India and the case is assigned on January 2, 2008 and it is the 2nd case on that date, your case # will be MDR-2008-502-002. That is MDR2008502002.

Yes MCN is Manila Case Number... Called NVC again and they said the case number they provided was right and is for K-1. RapidVisa to disregard the email they sent. Looks like they got confuse but now its all in our hands. Just waiting for our Ready status.

People...how long did it take for your statuses to say "ready" on the CEAC website? Today marks a week since mine has said "in transit" and I'm pretty sure that it has gotten to the consulate already but I'm unsure of why it has not been processed yet. Emails have gone unanswered. What is going on! Is this happening to anyone else at their respective consulates?

On the Ceac website you will check as immigrant.... but on another form, I think you to fill out as non-immigrant.. but don't quote me on that one

Does anyone know how many times we can call the NVC before i annoy them ? i called yesterday and they told me that they have received my petition and to call next week so I (being impatient) called this morning and no case number yet... can I call later or would that just annoy them ? do they keep record?

I wouldn't worry about annoying them... you have a right to know what it going on with your case and when you call customer service it is their job to provide you with information! The way I see it, we paid a lot of money to the US government to go through this process, so the least they can do it provide us with status updates when we ask

The way I see it, we paid a lot of money to the US government to go through this process, so the least they can do it provide us with status updates when we ask

I called 3 times yesterday, hah! I don't think they keep track of it, but if they do, i'd still keep calling til i get our case number!

omg thanks! i called right after replying to the post no wait no nothing and i got my nvc number!! If any one calls right know it seems like they are not as busy i was connected in less then 5 min..
