Hi Everyone!

So our interview is in about a week in Dominican Republic. We are so excited yet nervous.

I am gathering all the paper work. I tried putting everything together as I originally sent in. Just missing phone bills because I sent in the original and didn't make copies. But that shouldn't be a problem.

Any who, i am concerned about a few things as to domicile and affidavit. I've been living with my spouse here in DR. I've travelled to the U.S. about 3 times within 2 yrs. 3 month stay each. I have worked in those occasions.

I have an email from a prospecting job when I go back. My driver license is current. My phlebotomy license is current also. I have bank and credit card statements. Letters that have arrived at my home. All of those I try to use as prove for proof of domicile if they ask for. What else do I need?!

With the Affidavit of Support, my concern is that an immigration lady in the U.S. completed that for me but didn't make copy. Now I am here completing all of that paperwork but am worried the information won't match.

Should I worry?

I also started working as a distributor of products from the U.S. I barely have a few weeks. Is based of commission. What would I put as an annual income in the I-864?

Last but not least, any tips or advice for the interview, it will greatly be appreciated.

Thanks VJ Friends

we are doing the k-1 visa, and i am the petitioner, my Dominican fiance is the petitioner, In our interview, they didn't ask to see any of my paperwork at all, nothing about income or affidavit. Maybe you will have the same luck ? our interview was a breeze. we are just impatiently waiting for our visa to be issued

If your case was completed at NVC that means the affidavit was already approved, you don't need a copy. Now if you expedited thats a different story because you will then need to submit it during the interview. Don't stress! Go in there and be yourselves and it will be a breeze!

Your timeline doesn't specify if you completed your case at NVC or expedited. If you expedited and you need to submit Affidavit during interview, you will definitely need a co-sponsor with the qualifying income.

Incorrect, the NVC does not approve anything, they only reviewed the package for completeness. Whether or not the I-864 is approved or not rests with the CO at an Embassy or Consulate.

Different types of visas have different requirements that are not interchangeable. The outcome of K1 visa interview will have no bearing on the outcome of a spousal visa interview.

That's what I am wondering because I've been suggested to take EVERYTHING I've sent from the beginning, which includes affidavit of support.

I am going to take it regardless just in case.

I already did my 2015 taxes. Should I update? Mention I am working even though I don't have set any annual income.

Please, advice also as to DOMICILE! Thanks!

It states that you need to show proof you still reside in the US: Bank Account, Lease or mortgage, Job letter Etc. Follow that link...

I didn't make enough last year but I had my letter of employment showing what I make this year and they accepted it. As long as you can show proof you will make enough it's fine but it can't be a job offer it must be a current position. (This is what the lady who reviewed my docs at the embassy told me 2 weeks ago)... If you are worried get a cosponsor and show your domicile proof....

Correct for a k1.. DR doesn't ask for Affidavit for K1 since you will need it for AOS when he gets here. I first petitioned for a k1 and at interview they didn't ask for it either..Good luck with the visa Issuance. I know people who did a k1 and were stuck on AP for almost a year. Needles to say the dropped that case and got married and completed a CR1.

If your financial situation has changed since you submitted the i-864 to NVC, you need to bring a new i-864 to the interview.

Sounds like you have good proof of domicile. You said the letters were sent to your home. Do you mean home in the US? If so, bring proof of ownership/lease to show that you have a home in the US.

Good luck at the interview.

No one really knows... After the visa is approved the embassy does a background check on the immigrant. A lot of times its quick other times it can last a long time! In the end being on AP is a stressful mystery! The process is never complete until that Visa is in hand and even then point of entry is complete! Have faith though! It will work out!!!
