Hi there!

I am filing my I-134 form for my foreign beneficiary. I need to know if it is necessary to have a cosponsor. I only made 6k this past year but have 32k+ worth of assets and money in the bank. (I am only working part time while studying.) I thought for sure I would need a cosponsor because obviously my annual income is not enough, but does this amount of stocks/bank balance impact this? I am aware I must be meet 125% above the poverty line, I do exceed that when my assets are included. Yet then I read somewhere this affidavit lasts for five years and that the 125% level must be met for the entirety of those years. But since the K1 Visa leads to permanent residency does that effect that claim? Ultimately, do I need a cosponsor?

All advice and recommendations are welcomed.
Thank you for your time and responses,

-heatherl

You would need 3 times the income needed in assets. For example $30,000 assets = $10,000 income. It sounds like you need a joint sponsor.
