I`m going to apply for k1 while in USA (I`m in a tourist visa), my question is.. the only time I have to go back is for the consulate interview? And how long does it usually take from the interview to get the visa?

Thank you!

The medical and the interview you'll have to do in your home country. And the other one we can't answer don't know where you are from and then there could be AP too.

The K1 can take anything from a few months to a year (or more if you get stuck in Administrative Processing). You can stay in the US for as long as you're allowed on your current visa. You have to do the medical (preferably before the interview) and the interview in your home country.

It's hard to tell how long after the interview you'll get the visa. It all depends on how the workload is at the embassy and that can always change so no one can really tell. Average I believe is about 2 weeks, though like I said, it depends on the workload of the embassy.
