Hi guys quick question--I'm filling out my I-129F right now and wondering how USCIS determine which location the service center will be handling my paperwork at?

All I see right now are 2 addresses:

For U.S. Postal Service:

USCIS

P.O. Box 660151
Dallas, TX 75266

USCIS

Attn: I-129F
2501 South State Highway 121 Business
Suite 400
Lewisville, TX 75067

Do they automatically assign my service center based on my address?

Also, is the California service center fast? Thank you!

Yes, they assign based on your address usually. Those addresses are lockboxes which do intake and then forward to the appropriate service center. You'll be able to know which center by the first three letters of the receipt number on the notice you'll receive.

Yes, as of late, California is the fastest.

The lockbox (Dallas, TX) is like an office that sorts through your petition and then sends it off to where it needs to go. You will go to California Service Center. There used to be two centers - Texas and California, and this was based upon the state you lived. West = Cali, east = Tex. After early last year things changed, and now everyone regardless of location is going to California. Yes they are fast, but we have no way of knowing how long their new process will last.
